I trained as a designer/ jeweller in Antwerp/ Belgium in the 80’s and moved to Bristol/ UK in 1998. My work was then mainly to commission in a very traditional way, reworking and recycling jewellery from customers. In Bristol I started working for Holly Belsher as her assistant. Holly introduced me into the local circle of jewellers who went on to start the first local branch of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery culminating in the organisation of the Jewellery Unlimited exhibition in 2004. Due to circumstances I returned to Belgium in 2008 and for a very long time did not make anything until I found an appropriate place to set up my workshop again. Current work draws on personal material and found objects to ensure a narrative for the more eclectic and artistic pieces, marrying tradition with new directions, and the odd commission.
